Big Sister Kit

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

I was due yesterday but guess who is still with child?  I never thought I would go over my due date.

Since I knew my daughter would feel a little left out at the hospital when baby boy arrives, I felt the need to create something just for her.  I had seen on an episode of an infamous television show, the...

Patio Dreaming

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

Hubby and I have been talking about setting up the patio since we moved in.  The weather is warmer and I'd kind of like to enjoy it.  I'm not exactly the eat dinner outside type but I wouldn't mind hanging out with the family and friends for a while back there.

I always like to see other...

A Few Cravings

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

Well, I'm due in a week but I thought for sure we would meet little man this weekend.  I thought it would have been so cool to meet him on Mother's Day.  Oh well.  He'll come when he gets ready.

One thing I'm excited for when this pregnancy is over is wearing real clothes again.  Since spring...

Mirrors At The Entry

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

The little wall when you walk into the house has always bugged me.  It's a small space but I still want something there so guests don't walk in to complete emptiness.

Back in the fall I made a piece of subway art to fill the space.  It had the color I was looking for but I was never really satisfied.

I was...

Hanging A Mirror With Ribbon

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

I wanted to hang a mirror in the nursery but wasn't sure how I wanted to do it.  I thought about just gluing a hanger to the back and calling it lovely but I decided a ribbon would give me some more punch of color.

I cut...

I can finally say there isn't a blank wall above the sofa anymore.  It took a few tries to find the right piece that we both liked but I think we're happy with this one.

It pulls all the colors from downstairs into one piece.  It's even got a little green which I wasn't sold on in the store but kind...

DIY Blue Dot Vase

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

I often ramble through my craft cabinet looking for a cheap project to do.  I have a couple baskets of craft paint that were looking back at me.  I also had an extra dollar store vase that was pretty plain.  I decided to give it some color with my paint.  I chose a color and got to work.

He...

DIY Custom Placemats

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

The breakfast area is one we use daily.  We sit there for all our meals when we're together as a family.  I always keep placemats on the table to protect it from spills and scratches, especially with a little one.

The placemats that were there were old and a little dated.  They functioned...

Easter Printable

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

We were sitting down at dinner one night and the subject of Easter came up.  We had never discussed Easter with our daughter and the reason we celebrate this day.  We did the Jesus was born on Christmas discussion so now's a good time to explain this.  This conversation led me to write down some...

Paint Chip Easter Garland

Authors: Andrea @ Decorating Cents

What do you do with a stack of paint chips and a craft hungry 4 year old?  Make something of course.  This kid keeps my brain moving trying to come up with stuff for her to do.

This project was easy to do and my daughter enjoyed doing it.  I printed an egg shape and she traced it onto the back of the...
