We have a bit of a strange menagerie at our home…most of whom have made a spot here for themselves without Brian or I even realizing it until it was too late. Or so we like to tell ourselves.
When we first moved in to our house, there was just the four of us – Me, Brian, littleb and Gizmo. Not long after we moved in, we...

According to Brian, our little frenchie is not the most well put together dog in the world. He is a little bit goofy, mostly deaf and tends to have a lot of issues with yeast (stinky ears, lots of gunky buildup and he licks his paws a lot). Also he likes chasing Georgia…but there’s not too much we can do about that
After...

A couple of months ago, I came across a picture of a scarf that I loved

And realized that I could quite easily knit something very similar for myself.
Basically half the scarf is seed stitch and the other half is rib stitch…extremely simple and easy to knit while catching up on...

We have been living in our little home for almost three years now. When we first moved in, I was kind of concerned about the quantity of white carpet throughout, but figured we might be able to keep it clean.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
Yeah. Three dogs, copious amounts of foster cats, and one surly teenager means we don’t really have white...

So I like to reddit. And, recently I decided to take it a step further and sign up for one of the reddit gift exchanges that was happening – a coffee and tea exchange. Right up my alley. In case you were not aware, I am a slight coffee fanatic. One of the first things we (the royal we – Brian actually did all the work) did...

So I pulled together several different recipes this weekend and handed them over to Brian to look through so that he could pick out three to trial. He ended up choosing Teriyaki Chicken, Savoury Pepper Steak & the Primal Meatloaf. So we hit the grocery store…
It looks like a lot, but each recipe (minus the meatloaf) ends up...

So as part of my new years resolutions, I have decided to start making my freezer work for me (also, I joined a gym..but thats another story). By this I mean, I am going to attempt to make meals in advance and utilize the cool cool power of the upper section of my fridge. This weekend is my test run of assembling meals and next week...

Getting back in to the swing of things at the Strewth house. First up in 2013 is a den re-do. I picked up the first lot of supplies on the weekend, but then the den was taken over by a very sick Brian…so that has been put on the backburner for the moment. In the works, we have a coverup of the GORGEOUS wood panelling that is not...

Leaving home is always one of the hardest things I ever have to do. It’s hard to explain to someone else the enormity of the feels I get when I have to pack my suitcase to leave. My family lives almost on the exact opposite of the world to me. That’s kinda far.
I am mostly over the sad fits and my eyes have almost stopped...

Have you ever thought about weighing a cat? Most (normal) people probably haven’t…but in this household the thought has come up more than once. We are a family that tends to be surrounded by large big-boned cats. It all began with a small teeny ball of fluff called Rupert and my parent’s cat (Sir) Henry (T. Ford) has...
