Blog of the Month - October 2011

houseblogging-blogofthemonthbadge-october2011

Over at Our Concrete Home, Andrea, Nate, and their two feline friends (Pixel & Loki) are busy making their concrete block house a home. Since purchasing their 1950's house in 2009, they've filled their blog with details on all kinds of DIY projects (including painting inside and out, replacing windows and doors, removing tired landscaping and tearing out old flooring, to name a few). Alongside their project work, they're sharing some decorating inspiration, their entertaining adventures, and the experience of being featured on Bath Crashers. Our personal favorite, though, are the Feline Friday posts featuring all of Pixel and Loki's mischief … they make us smile every time! Be sure to stop on over and get to know this great blog … we're sure you won't be disappointed!

Welcome Ruby!

Our little bundle of love, Ruby Jacqueline was born on June 18th at 12:08pm.

I am going to record a whole video on my labor and delivery story so I won’t go into much detail now. I will say that I surprised myself in the best possible way and am so thankful to have delivered a healthy baby girl.

House Painted

We have been on a list to get our house painted since February. After a couple of months of waiting, I was convinced the house wouldn’t be painted until August. But then we got the phone call two weeks ago on a Thursday saying they could start the next day. Although it was a quick turnaround, Nate had just finished cleaning up...

Feline Friday: Baby massage

Authors: Andrea

One of the cutest things Loki has done since I’ve been pregnant is sit facing me and massage my belly. Yes, those claws hurt a little on my stretched skin, but it’s so adorable and sweet. I think he’s going to be a good kitty guardian for the wee one. ...

Pregnancy Update: Week 36

Well this week was pretty eventful but the biggest news is the baby has not dropped after all. Glad I will be going to the doctor once a week from now on to keep me updated because clearly I don’t have a clue.

This rug makes me very happy

Authors: Andrea

We’ve been rug free in the TV area of our Great Room since debris, water and god-knows-what-else fell through the hole in our roof during the remodel. We had plans to replace it (and the other rugs we lost) over the winter months, but finding a rug for this location became difficult. I missed having a rug under my toes while...
