Blog of the Month - October 2011

houseblogging-blogofthemonthbadge-october2011

Over at Our Concrete Home, Andrea, Nate, and their two feline friends (Pixel & Loki) are busy making their concrete block house a home. Since purchasing their 1950's house in 2009, they've filled their blog with details on all kinds of DIY projects (including painting inside and out, replacing windows and doors, removing tired landscaping and tearing out old flooring, to name a few). Alongside their project work, they're sharing some decorating inspiration, their entertaining adventures, and the experience of being featured on Bath Crashers. Our personal favorite, though, are the Feline Friday posts featuring all of Pixel and Loki's mischief … they make us smile every time! Be sure to stop on over and get to know this great blog … we're sure you won't be disappointed!

Getting the color just right

I was honored to design the wedding stationery for my dear friends Dagny & Dean this summer. Their wedding was held at the California Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. It’s a beautiful building that houses quite a few antique trains and memorabilia.

The format of the invitation was easy. We went with a modern take on a...

Field Notes: Summer Veg Garden 2014

I am happy to report we finally are producing ripe, beautiful tomatoes in the garden! This is an exciting moment. One of my absolute favorite things about summer are fresh tomatoes. I am so excited to make that trek to the garden every morning to find a few for my omelet.

I planted this year’s summer garden the beginning of May...

June Recap 2014

Authors: Andrea

This month’s recap took me longer than most. I feel so much has happened since the beginning of June that it was hard to narrow my nine items down. My final selection is a little bit of everything.

1. Finding peonies at Trader Joe’s the morning of Dagny’s bridal shower.
2. Feeling like I have a handle custom...
