Blog of the Month - October 2011

houseblogging-blogofthemonthbadge-october2011

Over at Our Concrete Home, Andrea, Nate, and their two feline friends (Pixel & Loki) are busy making their concrete block house a home. Since purchasing their 1950's house in 2009, they've filled their blog with details on all kinds of DIY projects (including painting inside and out, replacing windows and doors, removing tired landscaping and tearing out old flooring, to name a few). Alongside their project work, they're sharing some decorating inspiration, their entertaining adventures, and the experience of being featured on Bath Crashers. Our personal favorite, though, are the Feline Friday posts featuring all of Pixel and Loki's mischief … they make us smile every time! Be sure to stop on over and get to know this great blog … we're sure you won't be disappointed!

Building a Bedroom Closet: Part 2

Authors: Andrea

With the closet framed, we were ready to bust through the bedroom wall and start working on the inside.

Building a Bedroom Closet: Part 1

The last few weekends, Nate and I have been in full DIY mode. He’s been working on consolidating our office stuff while I’ve been working with my Dad on our closet build. Since I am pregnant I am not doing anything strenuous, but I am trying to assist as much as possible.

The first thing we did was head to Home Depot and...

Feline Friday: Back of the chair

Authors: Andrea

For years, the back of the chair in our front room has been Pixel’s domain. Recently, Loki has been trying to take it over. This has resulted in cat fights and a play for dominance for the “back of the chair” almost every night.

But then there are some special nights when the cats cooperate and share the back of the...

  • Had another regular appointment with the obstetrician
