Just For Fun

Authors: Amy

You called this meeting.  What do you want?

All right.  You’ve got my attention.

A stick?  You brought me here to see a stick?

Hold the phone.  Are you blowing on that?

Oh snap!

What kind of sorcery is this?!

BUBBLES!!!

Slowly But Surely

Authors: Amy

Slowly, but surely, we are inching our way toward a livable house.

D worked on it all weekend.  And I mean literally all weekend.  Even on Easter.  So we fudged this year, and skipped church to spend some rare time alone together.  We drank coke and took a drive on a beautiful morning while Junior snoozed in the back seat.

And since we...

Friday Faves

Authors: Amy

Since I don’t really have anything exciting to report on the home front… I’m back with another edition of Friday Favorites!

Please, hold your applause until the end of the post.

I found this on Pinterest.

You can find it here.

I grew up right across the street from my grandparents, who I love(d) with my whole heart.  They...

Birthdays and A Sneak Peek

Authors: Amy

If ever you build a house, and your lease runs out before the new house is built.. I suggest asking my parents if you can stay with them.

They will move out of their own bedroom so that you can have the extra space.  The whole place is always magically clean.  There is always yummy food around, and coffee is always brewing.  They will w...

Well, we didn’t quite hit our deadline.

We have to be out of the rental tomorrow, and the new house isn’t ready for us.

We are officially homeless!

We’ve got everything moved out of the rental, so all that’s left to do is scrub it.  We are really hoping and praying that we aren’t far away from moving into...

Pre-Move Move

Authors: Amy

This past weekend was almost entirely spent packing up the rental and moving boxes to the new basement.  We obviously knew we wouldn’t be at the rental very long, so we just never unpacked anything we could live without, so while the place never looked too pretty.. it sure made for easy packing!

Our parents and brothers came out...

Happy First Birthday…

Authors: Amy

My little boy turns one year old today.  365 days have passed since I first laid eyes on him.  I didn’t think I could possibly love him any more than I did at that moment, but miraculously, my heart swells fuller with him every single day.

I think I’ve mentioned before that I had a little personal blog before I started this...

Green Thumb… I Hope.

Authors: Amy

For reasons beyond my own comprehension, I’ve felt compelled to start a garden at the new house.

I’m not a gardener.  I’m not overly concerned with organics.  I don’t like bugs or being hot.  In short: I’m not outdoorsy.

Yet the desire remains.  D fully encourages it and enjoys the opportunity to make...

A Firm Foundation

Eleven days.

We move in to our new home in eleven days.  I look around myself and can’t even fathom that happening.  In zero ways does this feel like it’s been a quick process, yet I still can’t believe it’s here.

We bought the land a full year before we broke ground.  We wanted to pay it off first, you see, so we...

Exciting Times and My Little Leprechaun

Authors: Amy

It is so much fun going to the house now, because every time I do, something new and exciting has happened.

D found these doors on Craigslist.  They were salvaged out of a country club in Kansas City.

We bought two sets.  This is going in to the media room, off the living room.  And the other set will go between our master bedroom and b...
