Hey guys – Do you know Karah?  She’s pretty cool.  She listed me in this here game of tag that’s been going around Blogville.  I’ve been tagged a few other times, but ran out of interesting things about to tell you about myself so I bowed out for a while.  But today I’m feeling the lightest shade of blue an...

Details, Schmetails.

Authors: Amy

I don’t really think they’re “schmetails”, but very few words rhyme with details.

My dad came over and helped D paint the garage.  Those boys were at it till way past dark, and I really appreciate it.  This is the prettiest garage I’ve ever seen!  That color is a mixture of about 5 different ones Bob had, an...

Doors and Cabinets, Cabinets and Doors

Authors: Amy

We’re to the fun part now, where all the pretties are getting installed.  Cabinets are going in, colors are coming together, doors are being hung, and I’m decorating up a storm (in my brain.)

So this is the door going in to the laundry room.  I’m not sure why it tickles me so, but..

The fact that it’s split just...

Monday Quickie

Authors: Amy

I took some really nice pictures of all the progress at the house.  Then I didn’t upload them.

So I’m going to really quickly show you the pendant lights D has been working on for the kitchen.  You can find these old rail road glass insulaters all over the place.  I’ve seen them priced anywhere from $1.50 to $9.

First, I want to say thanks to Jessica at Stay At Home-ista, for passing along the Liebster award, and Kate at Discover. Create. Live. and Megan at The Remodeled Life for tagging me in their posts.  I won’t bore you all with repeating the tid-bits I’ve previously shared, but did want to thank these sweet girls for thinking...

The Master

Authors: Amy

I’m going to start with showing you this picture, yet again.

I still don’t have a source, but I feel like it’s Pottery Barn, yet can’t find it.  Sorry…

Thanks to this picture, I have an actual vision for at least one room in the house.  I’m totally winging it on the rest.

Yesterday, I showed you the wall...

A Horse, erm, House of Many Colors

Authors: Amy

It’s exciting to see all the colors coming together.

Our bedroom, nice and soothing.

The master bath.

That’s right!  We took the rust right on up to the ceiling.  Sassy.

Little Junior’s room is a dark, steely blue with gray ceiling.

We carried that gray into both the walls and ceiling of the Jack-and-Jill bathroom.  Be...

You Take The Good With The Bad…

Authors: Amy

Well… This happened.

If there is a scenario more humbling than backing into a tree in your own driveway, it would only be backing into a tree in your own driveway with witnesses.

Of which, I had five.

Thankfully, D was one of them and his response was simply “S*** happens”.

S*** does happen.  But still.  Bah.

But enough of...

What Do You Want Your Blog To Be When It Grows Up?

Authors: Amy

I’m joining in with several other bloggy buddies today to talk about what we want our blogs to be when they grow up.

I had to sit and think about this one for a while, as I sort of arbitrarily started this to document building our first home, and maybe mix in some projects, recipes and kid stuff.  But then I sort of got hooked and...

More Cabinets and a Little Ditty

Authors: Amy

Yesterday, I received an email from my pal Bliss, over at Bliss Ranch entitled “a little ditty”.

And it made me laugh out loud.  A lot.

I asked her if it would be ok with her if I shared it with all of you.  Although she’s usually pretty shy about sharing her composing abilities, but she did give the green light on one...
