Hark! We have tile!

Authors: Bungalow13

The tile is in and it is so awesome.  Just standard dal subway tile but I love the clean look.  The grout is a medium grey-I wish I could remember the color but can't recall right now.  I will ask the tile guy when he comes back to caulk.  He can't caulk yet as the granite by the range is still not fixed.

Light, Glorious Light

Authors: Bungalow13

Our awesome electrician (who typically does commercial work but takes on side jobs from time to time-contact me for his info if you are looking for an electrician-his hourly price is great and he's very trustworthy) was over on Sunday and finished up almost all the lighting.  We are pretty excited!

Enter new gorgeous...

Another Fail in the Granite Department

Authors: Bungalow13

I had hoped to post today that the plumber has come and gone and the kitchen is done but sadly not the case.

The granite saga continues.   My brother-in-law was kind enough to come over to our house the afternoon before Turkey Day (we were in LA visiting my family) and wait here for 3 hours (with his friends that...

More set backs

Authors: Bungalow13

I am extremely frustrated today and so ready to be done with this kitchen.  All excited this morning when the granite guys arrived early and got right to work.  Super nice guys just doing their job.  Then they brought in the pieces of granite shown above in really crappy light.
Then I noticed that the...

Authors: Bungalow13

I just decided to bare the fumes (man, they are strong despite holding my breath) and venture into the kitchen to capture a few pictures of the cabinets all primed.

Authors: Bungalow13

So the new stairs are in and we luv em.  I guess that the word luv is becoming a trend in my posts with everything new going on in this joint.  While the stairs still need a few tweaks (our stair dude will be back later this week), they are almost complete.

Just a glance back at the old stairs.  They were a...

Cabinets are set

Authors: Bungalow13

The cabinets are all in and we're ready for paint.  We L-O-V-E them!  Our cabinet guy is going to drop off the doors so that the painter can take them off site for painting.  This should ensure a lovely smooth finish.

We should have the cabinets painted by the end of the week and, *cross your fingers* we might...

Are here!
(sorry about the crappy iphone pix)

What it all looked like yesterday afternoon.  One big mess o' cabinets.  Big old glorious gorgeous mess.  All these months of research and hard work and planning finally paying off.

And what it looks like right now.  I was a little nervous yesterday as I...
