Us+House=Home
We have each other and (after lots of saving) we finally have a house. Now it's time to transform it into a home. But, with limited time and money, we're in for a challenge. Please come along for the ride!

Here are the before pics...
And the after pics - our beautiful new brushed...

Steve and I walked up to Mount Morton Reserve this afternoon, which is in Belgrave - south-east of Melbourne. It was a lovely sunny afternoon, and the view at the top made the steep walk well worth it!

Yep, you heard right. Apparently they were all the rage twenty years ago when our place was built...
Truth be told, when we inspected the house and discovered the wet bar, we didn't really know what to think - other than, 'Well, that's random!' But, since then, we've actualy seen a couple of new display homes that have...

Hi everyone, and hope you're having a lovely Sunday! In this post, we want to show you around our master bedroom. This room was another strong selling point for the house, because it is lovely and light - and huge. After moving from our rental property which had a teeny tiny master bedroom (in fact, it was just teeny tiny in...

Despite lamenting our lack of progress here, there has been one small development that we forgot to update you on.One of the features that added to the general ugliness of our poor, old house were the brown window winders and grey flyscreens.
Clearly, they had to go. So,...

First of all, let's start with a confession...
You see, the front garden isn't quite what it used to be as it appears in our lovely blog header. The photo used in the header was taken back in December 2008, before it was sold to the people who owned the house prior to us. Clearly, the lady who owned...

This is the entrance to our home sweet home currently...Pretty bland and boring, though it does have some things going for it - like the big lowered garden bed and feature window to the right.
The front door leaves a lot to be desired though. It's ugly, old fashioned and neither the main door nor the...

Let me start by saying that this is my least favourite room, hands down. It is dark, dreary, way too blue, and really depressing. We're guessing this was once a little boy's room, but the colour is just awful - way too dark for what is already a dark room. And the pink vertical blinds against the blue colour are...

We explored a lot of housing estates when we were house hunting, and one thing that put us off many of them was the fact that they were flat as a tack. Because you can't see beyond your immediate vicinity, they feel really claustrophobic - a series of neverending, rabbit warren streets. So, when we turned into our...
