Super simple homemade cards and going outside your crafting comfort zone

Authors: Kim@NewlyWoodwards

I have always had good intentions to make homemade cards. Over the years, I’ve accumulated a variety of cardstock, scrapbook paper and cards for parties and other crafting endeavors. So, why didn’t I make my cards? Mostly laziness and insecurity that my cards wouldn’t be as good as a store-bought.

No...

Flood Wood Care Staining Guide and Better Backyard Sweepstakes

Authors: Kim@NewlyWoodwards

This post brought to you by Flood® Wood Care. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am a notorious painter. But, a stainer, not so much. We've only taken on a few large staining projects in our years of DIYing – namely our hardwood floors in three homes and the deck.

Rental property updates

Authors: Kim@NewlyWoodwards

Here’s one weird thing about blogging – people assume you divulge everything about your life in the Internet. And usually, I’m pretty much an open book. But sometimes, things don’t make it onto NewlyWoodwards.

Making a clay tray with a doily for mom

Authors: Kim@NewlyWoodwards

(This is also serving as a not-so-subtle reminder to my husband, since this is my very first Mother’s Day as a mom. So, you know, get me something sparkly. )

Anyhoo, this is a project we did last...

Bathroom before and afters

Authors: Kim@NewlyWoodwards

Since I talked yesterday about ways to make your bathroom an oasis, I thought I should give you a full tour of our one and only bathroom. I’ve never really done a comprehensive post with before and after images. And despite it being practically as small as is legally allowable, it’s not all that short of a...
