Blooms and other garden progress

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

The flowers on our fence have just bloomed beautifully.

These are definitely the best these fence flowers I've managed to grow. And every day, they seem to get better. They were so tiny when I planted them, it's kind of amazing how large they've gotten. (Thanks, in large part, to my mother and husband, who watered them...

Second-hand baby

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

Baby clothes. They are seriously dangerous, friends. I did pretty good not buying clothes for Henry before he was born. Mostly because I didn't know how big he'd be when born and I wasn't sure what type of clothes I'd like best. Plus, we got tons of clothes as gifts.

But, once he got here, I felt totally underprepared...

Four weeks of Henry

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I hope you don't mind if I indulge you a little more in Henry talk. To be honest, I don't have much else to talk about at the moment. Projects are pretty much at a halt for me. Unless you consider feeding Henry, putting him to sleep, changing diapers, and doing an insane amount of laundry as  projects?

No?

Feed me!

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

The nest in the front porch ferns hatched this week. This baby bird is clearly confused and thinks I'm his momma.

Ryan thinks he resembles our son when he's hungry.

See? We're not so far removed from wild animals after all.

Due date

It's impossible to explain how much life has changed. And how much love we have for this baby.

And the last three weeks? They have been the most

An ode to a barn

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

Subtitle: My husband may be insane.

In case it wasn't painfully obvious, Ryan and I don't usually take the easy route. Scratch that. Ryan typically goes for the more difficult (read: cheaper) way, and he drags me along for the ride. I'd be perfectly content making things easier.

The newest difficult project in Woodward...

Locally Grown nursery sign

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

The crown jewel of the nursery has been installed.

When I was planning the nursery, I knew I wanted it to include a sign by my fabulous friend Jen at Onion Grove Mercantile. Her signs are unique, creative and full of character. I hemmed and hawed about which type of sign I wanted. After I decided on her popular Locally...

Nesting

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I was watering the ferns on the porch yesterday and found these pretties nestled in the pot.

I love finding nests at our house and actually squealed when I spied these pretty eggs. Can't wait to see the little birdies hatch. I tried to be very careful not to disturb the little home but I had to get a picture. Here's to...

A little mailbox update

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

Sometimes it's the little projects around the house that make me the happiest. That's kind of how I feel about the mailbox.

We've had the same old yucky and rusty mailbox since buying our house in 2010.  I truly hated that mailbox. But there were more pressing matters, and it got put off. You can see it...
