I will … February 2013

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I was inspired to take a photo of Henry and I in our new spruced-up bedroom this month. I really love this one, too. Ryan was out of town or I would have dragged him into the photo, too.

This month, I'm hoping to be better about planning healthy meals for our family throughout the week. This will just make weeknights...

I did … January 2013

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

Month one with simplified goals. Overall, I'm pleased with how it went.

Unplug often … I tried to make an effort to stay off the computer and even my phone in the evenings while Henry was awake. The stinkpot needs undivided attention, particularly since he's taken to doing things like catapulting himself into the...

Song lyrics on a Valentine's staircase

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I'm not really much of a Valentine's decorator. A few small things here and there. But Henry makes me wanna fill the house with lovey dovey decor. Because I'm positively dripping with love and I want to make this Valentine's Day the BESTHOLIDAYEVER. It's disgusting. So this year, I have completed a few small projects...

Happy together barn wood sign and bedroom spruce-up

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I've been waiting for inspiration to strike for the perfect artwork to hang above our bed. First, I was planning to go with a monogram. Then a shelf with photos. But nothing really struck me enough to actually do anything. It could possibly be laziness.

So, we pretty much ate there every single weekend so I could dominate my favorite item on the menu.

Pizza Bread. For...

Update: A classic boy nursery at (almost) 8 months

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

So, I love pretty nursery photos as much as anyone. But I'm also aware that a nursery is intended to be a comfortable and safe place for baby to grow.

It has to be useful, people.

So, while I was taking photos of Henry's crib and skirt for yesterday's post, I thought I'd take some photos of the nursery as it is after...

Update: An adjustable crib skirt from a flat sheet

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

Right before Henry was born, I made a crib skirt from a flat sheet. This project was all about quick, easy and cheap. And it turned out pretty darn good. It's also become a pretty popular post on the old blogerooski. Likely because it's quick, easy and cheap.

And because I'm awesome, of course. Mostly that.

Now, Henry...

Favorite French toast

Authors: Kim @ NewlyWoodwards

I would have to say that French toast is one of my favorite breakfast meals. But, in the past, I've had trouble making it without the bread getting soggy. But, no more. I learned a little tip from my buddy Martha that makes it perfect every single time.

This is about as basic of a French toast recipe as you can get....
